Alive
Formed in San Francisco in 1975, Alive! is an all-female jazz quintet that held
a formative role in women’s music and jazz in particular. With the help of
manager Helen Keane, the original line-up of the band was comprised of
drummer/percussionist Barbara Borden, percussionist Caroly Brandy,
bassist/cellist Susanne DiVincenzo, pianist Janet Small, and
vocalist/percussionist Rhiannon. They released their self-titled debut album in
