At a time when rap was exploding in France, a multi-ethnic group triumphed with
a pair of immensely popular hits ("Respect", "Simple et funky") and became a
teen fetish. But the fire was short-lived, and Alliance Ethnik disappeared after
a second album, Fat Come Back, at the dawn of the 2000s.
