Born September 28, 1976 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Amitabh Bhattacharya has been an active voice in the Bollywood film industry as a playback singer of Bengali origin and an award-winning lyricist since the mid-'00s. A lucky break in 2004 saw him work with famed composer Amit Trivedi on a cache of advertising jingles but his breakthrough as a vocalist came in 2009 with the hit song "Emotional Atyachar," featured in the 2009 Indian Hindi-language romantic black comedy film Dev.D.
