Angela Maria Diniz Gonsalves (December 5, 1949), better known by her stage name
Angela Ro Ro, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and pianist. Born in the city of
Rio de Janeiro, she began taking classical piano lessons at the age of 5,
inspired by her musical heroes Elis Regina, Maysa, Jacques Brel, and Ella
Fitzgerald. After spending a few years in exile in Europe, she returned to
Brazil and made her official recording debut with an eponymous LP released in
1979 via Polygram, which has since become one of the quintessential MPB albums
thanks to songs like "Gota de Sangue," "Balada...
