Hyped to the eyeballs and cooler then school, Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong
were billed as the saviours of British guitar pop in the late-2000s, only for
their album release to be blocked and the group to be ridiculed as a hipster
joke. Their implosion led to old school friends Tom Dougall (brother of Rose
Elinor Dougall of The Pipettes), Dominic O'Dair (guitar) and Maxim 'Panda'
Barron (bass) turning to dark, psychedelic rock and being reborn as TOY in 2010.
Signed to Heavenly Records, they were championed by The Horrors and The Vaccines
and a more measured amount of media buz...
