Arch Enemy are a group of heavy metal rockers formed in Sweden in the mid-1990s
by former Carcass and Carnage guitarist Michael Amott. They gained attention in
Europe and Japan but took off internationally in 2000 when they were joined by
the powerful voice of German singer Angela Gossow, formerly of the bands
Asmodina and Mistress. They had several successful albums until 2014 when
Gossow, who now manages the group, was succeeded by Canadian vocalist Alissa
