The daughter of a former Baptist minister, Ashlee Simpson studied ballet from
the age of three, winning a place at New York's School of American Ballet. Her
sister Jessica was already a recording star when Ashlee started appearing on
television and made her own recording debut in 2002, singing on a Christmas
