Born in Istanbul on July 3, 1970, Aşkın Nur Yengi is a classically trained
Turkish singer and actor who rose to fame during the '90s. After completing a
music degree in cello at the State Conservatory of Turkish Music, she secured
employed as a vocalist with leading Turkish pop singer Sezen Aksu. She began
making a name for herself in the late '80s, winning first prize at the Kuşadası
Altın Güvercin Song Contest in 1987 with "Yeniden," at the Antalya Altın
