Barbara Lynn Cumby, who goes by Barbara Lynn, is an American soul, R&B and blues
singer-songwriter and guitarist who topped Billboard's Hot R&B Songs Chart in
1962 with her single 'You'll Lose a Good Thing'. She played music as a child and
performed in regional venues in Texas before landing a recording contract. Her
albums include 'You'll Lose a Good Thing' (1963), 'Sister of Soul' (1964) and
'Here Is Barbara Lynn' (1968), and she toured with artists including James
