Roberto Tadeu de Souza (September 7, 1947) is a Brazilian singer-songwriter who
goes by the stage name of Bebeto, commonly known for scoring a couple of
samba-rock hits in the 70s. A São Paulo native, de Souza got his start by
playing at small venues and bars around the city and then made his official
recording debut with an eponymous full-length in 1975. After relocating to Rio
de Janeiro, he had his big breakthrough moment with the LP Esperanças mil
(1977), which spawned the singles “Você é a paz que me acalma” and “Água, água.”
