Founding singer and leader of the iconic French rock band Noir Désir, Bertrand Cantat (born in Pau on March 5, 1964) saw his career brought to a halt by the manslaughter of Marie Trintignant, which sent him to prison in 2003. Released in 2007 after a remission of sentence, he joined the Choeurs project (2011) and formed the duo Détroit with bassist Pascal Humbert (ex-16 Horsepower), who recorded the album Horizons (2013), followed by the live recording La Cigale (2014).
