Richard Terfry, who performs as Buck 65, is a rap artist from Canada's Maritimes
who has made a career with popular albums and appearances as a host on CBC Radio
in his homeland. A promising baseball career ended with a shoulder injury but
listening to hip-hop shows on the radio in his remote Nova Scotia home drew him
toward the music business. He developed his own rap style and in 1990 he
produced a single, 'The Rhyme Has to Be Good', which was played on college radio
in the city of Halifax.
He took the name DJ Critical for a while and used other stage names including
Stink...
