Born Marie-Claire Girod in Metz, France on February 14, 1957, pop singer Buzy enjoyed several hits in the early 1980s, before pursuing her career as an independent artist. She taught tap-dancing before being spotted by lyricist Étienne Roda-Gil and recording her first song, "Dyslexique" (1980), which was a big radio hit. The album Insomnies (1981) brought her a rock hit with the song "Engrenage,” and in 1983, the album Adrian, which included the hit title track, was released on the CBS label.
