The Japanese duo C&K was formed by bandmates Clievy and Keen in 2008, while both
musicians were attending Bunkyo University in Koshigaya. C&K made its public
debut later that year, when the duo appeared on Kusuo's hit single "1/6000000000
feat. C&K." The song reached Number 12 on the Oricon chart, and C&K scored a
similar hit with the group's own release, the CK Island EP, later that year.
Reaching Number 10 on Japan's indie chart, CK Island was followed by 2009's
