Born in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, on June 13, 1986, Caitlyn Smith found success
as a songwriter for other artists before launching a solo career as a country
artist. Relocating to Nashville, Tennessee, she began writing songs on Music Row
during her twenties, often collaborating with fellow songwriters like Don
Schlitz and Megan Trainor. She co-wrote 2013's "You Can't Make Old Friends," a
duet between Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, with Schlitz, then collaborated with
Trainer on the song "Like I'm Gonna Lose You." Although they initially intended
