Calcinha Preta are a Brazilian festival band playing in the traditional forró
style. The band was intially the brainchild of local businessman Gilton Andrade
in conjunction with the composer Natinho da Ginga who came up with the musical
formula for the group in 1995. Since its formation the band has built up a
reputation for performing lavish stage shows with bold costumes and stage sets
and perform a repetoire comprising of many international pop and rock standards.
