Originally from Cape Verde on his parents' side, Carmelo was born in Wattrelos (Nord). It was in this region and in Belgium that he took his first steps as a singer and dancer. An admirer of Usher, Carmelo favors an R&B dance style. Spotted by Saint Ange and Soma Riba of Collectif Métissé, Carmelo collaborates with the festive dance group. In 2012, Carmelo released his acclaimed debut single "Elle veut mon corps", which sparked passions in discotheques across France.
