Singer, songwriter, and Youth Pastor Mark Hall formed the first line-up of
Christian soft rock band Casting Crowns in Daytona Beach, Florida in 1999 before
relocating to McDonough, Georgia. The band released two independent
self-produced albums locally as a means of involving the local youth population
in the church. One of the tracks was heard by Sawyer Brown's lead singer Mark
Miller, who signed them to his Beach Street Records label. This resulted in the
2003 release of their self-titled album which produced “Voice of Truth”, a
