Crystal Bowersox loved music from an early age and began writing her first songs
and playing in gigs at the age of ten. She and her brothers set up a band
together, calling themselves Oldinuph, a pun on their young ages, and played
shows mostly using material written by Bowersox. She rose to public attention in
the ninth series of 'American Idol' in 2009, where she was the first female
finalist in three years and finished as runner-up to Lee DeWyze. Her best
