Dany Dan
Nicknamed "Le Pape de Boulogne" (The Pope of Boulogne), Dany Dan (real name
Daniel Lakoué), a French rapper born in Paris on November 20, 1973, made his
name with the group Les Sages Poètes de la Rue, whose jazz-influenced rap was a
big hit from its first album, Qu'est-ce Qui Fait Marcher les Sages, in 1995.
While remaining involved with the group, he began his own solo career in 2003
with the release of several EPs: Dany Dan Vol. 1 (2003), Case Départ (2003),
Danny Dan Vol. 2 (2004). A debut album, Poétiquement Correct , followed in 2006.
