Donny McCaslin
Donny McCaslin has been exposed to jazz ever since childhood. His father was a
vibe player and at the age of twelve Donny was invited to play in his father's
band where he became mentored by Paul Contos and Brad Hecht, both members of his
father's ensemble. After joining and performing with his high school band in
Europe and Japan he enrolled on a scholarship at the Berklee College of Music
where he met Gary Burton, one of the corner stones of the Berklee teaching
staff. McCaslin subsequently toured with Burton's band before moving to New York
and joining jazz fusion outfit Steps...
