French organist Eddy Louiss (1941-2015) enjoyed a dual career in jazz and
variety. A member of the group Les Double Six in 1961, he accompanied Claude
Nougaro the following year and for over a decade, as well as other chanson stars
such as Serge Gainsbourg, Barbara, Jacques Higelin and Charles Aznavour.
However, it was through jazz that he gained notoriety, through his many
collaborations with Dizzy Gillespie, Daniel Humair and Jean-Luc Ponty (in the
