Edith Márquez is a Latin pop singer and television star who embarked upon a solo
career after logging multiple years as a member of the platinum-selling group
Timbiriche. Born in Puebla, Mexico, on January 27, 1973, she made her television
debut at five years old, when she won the singing competition Juguemos a Cantar.
She won a similar television competition, Canta, Canta, in 1984. While starring
in the Mexican soap opera Papá soltero, Edith Márquez was asked to replace
Mariana Garza in the pop group Timbiriche. She remained with Timbiriche
