The Cantopop singer Edmond Leung was born in British Hong Kong on November 5,
1971. Initially intending to become a professional soccer player, he shifted his
focus to singing during the late-1980s, when he became one of two finalists in
1989's New Talent Singing Awards. Leung earned a record deal with Capital
Artists following the competition and later released his full-length debut,
Thinking of You, Waiting for You, in 1991. As the decade progressed, he became a
