Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore originally met in Sydney, Australia in 2000 and
talked of putting together a band, though it took eight years to materialise.
Steele, the son of a blues musician, was living in Perth at the time singing and
playing guitar in The Sleepy Jackson. Based in Sydney, Nick Littlemore was also
busy in a dance duo called Pnau with Peter Mayes so the project was put on the
back burner for several years. In 2007 Littlemore invited Steele, to work with
