Erkan Aki
Classically trained tenor and multi-linguist Erkan Aki was born in Switzerland
to Turkish parents. His love of music began at an early age but it was when he
was 17 that he went to see a performance of Strauss's opera 'Die Fledermaus' and
decided to become a professional singer. He trained with Paul Spärti in
Switzerland whilst also completing a business studies course. He moved to
Istanbul for a few years in 1993, and then returned to Switzerland to study at
the Zurich University of Music.
