Born in Saint-Hyacinthe, Canada, in the second half of the 1980s, Maxime Gabriel
grew up in a music-loving family and began rhyming in his neighborhood. One
thing led to another, and the young rapper sharpened his punchlines, culminating
in the release of his first album in 2005, Parler au nom d'une nation. With its
emphasis on samples and lyrics, this first fourteen-track album established him
as a key figure in the French rap scene, close to the likes of Mafia K'1 Fry and
