Fejo is the stage name of Indian rapper, lyricist, and songwriter Febin Joseph,
who helped pioneer the subgenre of Malayalam Rap during the 2010s. Joseph was
born in Vytilla, Kochi, and obtained a Bachelor of Technology degree before
meeting the American rapper Akon, who became something of a mentor for the
burgeoning musician. Christening himself "Fejo," he started releasing original
material in 2009, often writing about topics facing the modern generation of
Indian Millennials. Championed by Indian stars like Raftaar, Fejo became a
