Franck Joseph Vincent, born in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, on April 18, 1956, is
best known for his zouk repertoire with a saucy edge. Born into a modest family,
he gave up his studies to work, playing percussion in a compas group called
Tabou N° 2, which he joined as lead singer in 1978, after completing his
military service in French Guiana. In 1980, Francky Vincent decided to go it
alone and record his own songs, making a name for himself in the French West
