Award-winning bandolinist, songwriter, and arranger Hamilton de Holanda was born
in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on March 30, 1976. Known for his mix of choro, jazz
and samba, de Holanda is acknowledged as one of finest bandolim – a Brazilian
mandolin - players in the world. At the age of 5, he began playing a traditional
8-string bandolim, performing in public for the first time a year later. During
