A well-respected musical figure, Chinese singer and songwriter Han Hong (Tibetan
name Yangjain Zhoima) – who is of mixed Tibetan and Han Chinese ethnicity – is
celebrated both for her singing and her songwriting. Born on September 26, 1971
in Chamdo, China, Hong joined the children's choir in 1980 and received formal
training, before moving to Beijing. She began composing for other artists in
1993 and penned a number of hit songs, launching her own career in 1998 with the
release of The Brightness of the Snow (雪域光芒). Another two albums followed,
2000's Daybreak a.k.a. Dawn (天亮了) ...
