The American rapper Huey was born Lawrence Franks, Jr. in Kinloch, Missouri in
1989. He grew up in a tough district of St. Louis and credits his experiences as
a teenager as having helped shape and influence his music. At the age of 15 he
began to develop an interest in writing hip-hop and started to perform under the
stage name Huey. His song 'Pop, Lock and Drop It' was adopted by various local
radio stations and DJs and became a local hit and this eventually led to him
signing a deal with Jive Records. The track was included as the lead single on
