Ivan Conti
Ivan Miguel Conti Maranhão (August 16, 1946), also known as “Mamão,” is a
Brazilian drummer and percussionist, mostly known for being one third of the
jazz-funk outfit Azymuth. Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Ivan Conti has recorded
with some of the most popular artists in MPB (Brazilian Popular Music),
including Milton Nascimento, Eumir Deodato, Marcos Valle, Hyldon, Gal Costa, and
Jorge Ben. With Azymuth, he released a string of classic jazz fusion albums such
