cousins Javed Khan and Mohsin Shaikh. They both came from creative families –
Javed Khan’s father was table player Late Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan and Mohsin
Shaikh’s father is writer Mustafa Shaikh. The duo’s maternal grandfather was
Padamshri Ustad Fayyaz Ahmed Khan Sahab of Kirana Gharana, who remains a
legendary name in the world of Indian classical music. Before they started their
professional career, the cousins would spend many hours after school playing
