JD McPherson
JD McPherson is an American rock & roll singer-songwriter and guitarist born on
April 14, 1977, in Tulsa. Raised in rural Oklahoma, he played guitar as a
teenager, played in local bands and began to write songs. He obtained a Master
of Fine Arts degree from the University of Tulsa but decided to go into the
entertainment business inspired by his love of 1950s rock & rollers such as
Buddy Holly and Little Richard. His debut album, Signs & Signifiers (2012),
topped Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart but peaked at number 47 on the Top
