Boasting a genre-hopping sound equally indebted to hip-hop, R&B, and alternative
rock, experimental pop artist Jean Dawson was born David Sanders on December 22,
1995, in Tijuana, Mexico. Raised in the San Diego area by a Black American
father and a Mexican mother from Sinaloa, he moved to Los Angeles to study film
at California State University but soon dropped out to focus on his music
career. During his time, he independently released his studio debut Bad Sports
