A native of Côte d'Ivoire, Jim Koutouan made a national name for himself through
music, and coupé-décalé, in the early 2000s. Participating in the rise of the
movement and its rapid popular success, Jim K (sometimes Jim K Ressource or DJ
Ressource) first worked in Abidjan's nightclubs before moving into production.
In 2004, he recorded "Farot farot", his first attempt in the field of
composition, which won over the public. With a release that enabled him to
assert himself in the coupé-décalé milieu, Jim K re-released his album Taka
