Best known for his work with The Moody Blues, bassist and singer John Lodge has
since gone solo in the same musical vein. Born in Erdington, near Birmingham, on
July 20, 1943, John Charles Lodge took an interest in rock'n'roll, and while
still at school he rubbed shoulders with the local scene, where he cut his teeth
in the bands El Riot and the Rebels alongside Ray Thomas and Mike Pinder
(1962-1963), The Carpetbaggers (1964) and The John Bull Breed (1965-1966). Asked
