Jonita Gandhi is an Indian-born Canadian playback singer who made her debut in
the 2013 film Chennai Express. Born in Delhi into a music-loving household, she
moved to Canada with her family when she was just nine months old. Encouraged by
her father, an electrical engineer and part-time musician, she received formal
training in both Western and Hindustani classical singing. After a frustrated
attempt to participate in the reality show Canadian Idol, she began uploading
