Born in Egypt to an Egyptian father, an international consultant, and a French
mother, a humanitarian doctor, Joseph Kamel developed his dual cultural roots
through music, playing the piano and oud from the age of eight. He was fourteen
when his family left Cairo for Caen in the Calvados region of France, where they
settled. The young musician then tried to take part in The Voice, la plus belle
