Julia Neigel is a German singer and songwriter who rose to prominence in the
1990s with a series of critically-acclaimed albums such as 'Wilde Welt' (1990)
and 'Nur Nach Vorn' (1991). During this period, she became the doyen of the
German rock press and was rarely out of the music business news.
Neigel was born in 1966 in Barnaul, Siberia, but her parents moved back to
Germany when she was five. As a teenager she began to develop her extraordinary
voice which has a range of octaves and initially concentrated on classical
