Kamelot is an American heavy metal band that formed in 1987 in Tampa, Florida.
Guitarist Thomas Youngblood quickly emerged as the band's most consistent
member, weathering a string of lineup changes and writing all songs on Kamelot's
1995 debut, Eternity. Drummer Richard Warner, who wrote the album's lyrics, left
the lineup two years later. Despite the ever-shifting roster, Kamelot became a
mainstay of Florida's symphonic metal scene, then reached the Billboard 200 for
the first time with 2010's Poetry For The Poisoned, which charted at Number 74.
