Kary Ng
Mandopop star and rocker Kary Ng was born June 9, 1986 in Hong Kong. Nicknamed
Lady K, she first gained fame as the youngest member of the group Cookies, and
simultaneously served in the short-lived rock band Ping Pung. After both groups
disbanded, she launched her solo career with the 2006 album With a Boy Like You,
a collection of songs that had a harder rock sound than was typical of most pop
star material. It was a huge success and soon she became, at age 20, one of the
