Price was born April 4, 1973 in New York. Before she was twenty she established
herself as a first-rate back-up vocalist and contributed to such successful
tracks as The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money, Mo Problems” and Mariah Carey’s
chat-topper “Fantasy”. Price called in many of the heavy-hitters she once worked
with to contribute to her debut album, 1998’s Soul of a Woman, on which she had
a hand in writing over half of the songs, including “Friend of Mine” which was
