Born into a famous family of gospel singers, Kierra Sheard is the daughter of
Karen Clark Sheard. Born in Detroit on June 20, 1987, she began singing in
church at the age of five, and at nine appeared on her mother's album Finally
Karen (1997), winning a Stellar Award for Best Children's Performance. In
addition to singing backing vocals for her aunt Dorinda Clark-Cole and The Clark
Sisters, in 2004 she released her debut album I Owe You, produced by Rodney
