Born as "Kris Dayanti" on March 24, 1975, the Indonesian pop singer Krisdayanti
was raised in Batu, East Java, in a family that also included her sister,
vocalist Yuni Shara. Krisdayanti made her studio debut at age 12 with 1987's
Biasa Saja, then found a wider audience after winning the internationally
televised singing competition Asia Bagus in 1992. Her first major-label album,
