Born on June 11, 2004, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lay Bankz is an American
rapper and singer-songwriter known for her Jersey club-inflected brand of
contemporary R&B music. Of Eritrean descent, she grew up in Southwest
Philadelphia and began writing her own raps by the age of 10. Her early interest
in music led to the release of her first song, "Passion," in 2019 when she was
just 15. In 2022, her career took a significant leap forward when she signed
