formed in 1977, Le Grand Orchestre du Splendid debuted with performances of Duke
Ellington and Ray Ventura at Le Splendid café-théâtre. Noticed by Jean-Louis
Foulquier on France Inter, the group joined his show, mixing jazz, reggae,
swing, salsa, mambo and ska with humor and parody. They have performed on
prestigious stages and created musicals such as Tam Tam au pays des noirs-blancs
and Couac. With hits like "La Salsa du démon " and "Macao ", the group
celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2017, continuing to perform internationally.
