Les Hurlements d'Léo are a French alternative rock band influenced by the likes
of Les Négresses Vertes. They combine traditional French sounds (including an
accordian) and the sounds of alternative French artists of the 1980s with ska,
Latin and punk aesthetics.
An early version of the band came together in 1995, mixing it up in France's
underground music scene for several years with a conventional four-piece punk
set-up before expanding to a meatier eight-musician line-up for their debut
