Born in 1986 in Barranquilla, Colombia, songwriter Lido Pimienta later moved to
Canada, where her multi-genre blend of electronic pop, Afro-Colombian music, and
Latin influences helped her win the country's prestigious Polaris Music Prize in
2017. She was raised in Colombia by a multi-ethnic family and began singing in
punk bands as a teenager, before immigrating to Canada to join her mother in the
